ICI Official - A Community Message from ICI Shura Council (1/10/2021)

Dear Brothers and Sisters, Assalaamu Alaikum,

It gives us great pleasure to share with you the breaking-news that, by the grace of Almighty Allah SWT, the Islamic Center of Irving (ICI) and former members of the previous Shura Council have decided to settle all disputes related to the pending lawsuit, by binding arbitration conducted by neutral Muslim arbitrators, in a brotherly and peaceful manner.

Here are key highlights of the agreement:

* The agreement was signed today, January 10th, 2021.
* Insha’Allah the lawsuit will be dropped within 7 business days.
* All downloaded, deleted or copied data will be returned to ICI by the former Shura Council Members with certification that copies were not retained by them.
* ICI will make available to them access to emails/data on a request basis for responding to ICI related business matters.
* Responses to all the financial irregularities questions will be provided by the previous Shura Council members.
* The previous Shura Council members will complete the handover/transition of responsibilities.
* Arbitration Board will be comprised of neutral Muslim arbitrators.
* Both parties to the agreement will waive and withdraw all claims arising from the pending lawsuit.
* The Parties further agreed not to use social media, emails, websites, newsletters, newspapers, announcements, or any other communication medium to accuse or defame each other.

Scope of the matters to be addressed include:

    a) completion of the handover from the previous Shura Council to the current Shura Council members
    b) data related issues pertaining to deletes, copies, and downloads
    c) financial irregularities
    d) constitution related issues
    e) election related issues

It is expected that matters will be resolved within 90 days

The peaceful mediation of the issues will, Insha’Allah bring-back the brotherly and sisterly affection and unity that existed in this great institution of ours and has been, with Allah SWT’s mercy, the catalyst that attracted scholars, professionals and family members to Irving and fueled ICI’s growth and Insha’Allah to achieve its goal of being the minaret of Islam in the West.

The recent events also provide us all with important lessons-learned on how to address our disputes and disagreements in a peaceful manner.

Lastly, we want to take this opportunity to thank all those who prayed for the peaceful resolution of the issues through dialogue and discussions/mediation including members of the ICI Shura Council, former members of the Shura Council/Body, current Shura Body, ISNA, NTIC, NAIT, founding-members of ICI, Ex-Presidents of ICI and individual members of our worshipping public. May Allah SWT bless them all and protect ICI and continue to shower it with His infinite mercy and blessings. Ameen!

Alhamdulillah! The Islamic Center of Irving is pleased to announce that starting Monday, August 10, 2020, ICI will be opened for Fajr, Maghrib and Isha salahs. These salahs will be held in the Multiple Purpose Hall (MPH) on a first-come-first serve basis. Overflows (and for those who would prefer to pray in the open), will be accommodated in the parking lot. If you decide to pray in the open, please be mindful to stay behind the markings that will indicate Imam’s position.

2 Jumu’ah salahs will be held at 2 and 3 PM respectively in the MPH. Similar to the regular prayers, overflows will be accommodated in the Parking lot.

Please follow the following safety guidelines:

* Admission will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. No registration is required.
* Everyone must wear a mask.
* Everyone must bring their own prayer mat and shoe bag.
* Wudu should be performed at home (ICI bathrooms, wudu areas and water fountains will remain closed at all times).
* Everyone will be required to maintain 6ft social distancing
* Anyone with flu-like symptoms or pre-existing conditions prone to COVID-19 should please stay home
* Everyone is expected to leave immediately after salah and pray their Sunnah at home
* Please know you are coming to the Masjid at your own risk and ICI will not be responsible if you get sick
